How do I stop my glasses steaming up? Aqua Sphere goggles I Caiman I bought recently and they are very well for 10 minutes. If I put on top of my head when I replace them they are getting more hazy and foggy until I can barely see. They do not leak and if I wipe them with my fingers, they are smeary and worse. Please help!?
You can buy a small bottle of anti fog ($ 4) that will work. You can find in any dive shop or swimming provision. You need only one drop for each goal, rub your finger around, rinse and you're good for most of the day. This bottle will last you for years. If glasses are new, you will find a film of applied chemistry within each lens by the manufacturer. That should get or what you finally decide to use to stop fog ups do not work. Use a regular toothpaste that contains sand, rub a little inside each lens and rinse
You should not use the pin. Not only does it not last as long as fogging but contains bacteria which are your eyes will not like much. It is quite possible to have an eye infection.
Contrary to the others posted here, no, most professional divers do not spit unless they do not find their anti-fog in their kit. It is a method of last resort. I do not spit and I dive nearly everyday.
Edit: In response to Kitty, I dive into the trade in the first place, therefore, every day. I am Canadian. I do not think I saw anyone spit in a mask over the years.
try to spit in them and around the rubbing or licking and also works is a bit fast and not so serious. Processional divers do to stop there fogging, it is also what I do for my glasses. It is anti-fog spray available but I do not know how good he is (link below). You can also dip your glasses into the water but it does not stop fogging for all time. Try all methods and see what works best for you, if you use e-mail Anti-fog spray and tell me if its good because I want to know.
Hello, I dive underwater and with the masks we were using to scrub the inside of the mask with toothpaste (weird I know) before use to remove a coating that the manufacturer puts on it to protect the lens . You may try to do with your glasses - it worked with my mask. You need to use an abrasive toothpaste, put inside the glasses, he rubbed with fingers, then rinse and let dry. Then when you get in the pool, spitting on inside the goggles, wipe and flush. This should prevent them from fogging.
Otherwise, you can buy anti-fog liquid in the dive shops that you spray on the glasses instead of spit (which is slightly more hygienic!)
In scubabob comment, I guess from your answer that you are the United States? (You answered in $) are the most American divers use anti-fog - it's just none of the divers to dive with use (it seems to be the minority in the United Kingdom), - not being rude just thought it was an interesting difference!
The best way to keep them is to spit in the clear and rub well into the glasses. Rinse just before starting. They remain clear for very long.
Remember: The green, cleaner, whiter, brighter! Disgusting, I know. But it works as well or better than chemicals.
just spit in, rub around and soak them in water to rinse
or
You can buy a special solution of dive shops to rub on the spot, but to be honest spit works the same and is cheaper and easier (:
If you prefer not to use spit reality, there are several alternatives to consider.
