South Boston, Virginia - Jeb Burton, 17 years old son of NASCAR driver and former winner of the Daytona 500, Ward Burton was selected as a pilot called for the opening season of Volkswagen of America, Inc., SCCA Pro Racing Jetta TDI Cup, organized by Virginia International Raceway. Burton also participate in all weekend on and off-track events, including practice and qualifying and competing in the series' second race at Virginia International Raceway in two hours on April 26.

The 2009 season marks the second year of competition for the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup. During the season, the young and upcoming drivers aged 16-26 compete in eight of 10 events on the route around North America. Each driver competing in the series will win a license of SCCA Pro Racing at the end of the season and the series champion will win $ 100,000. While Burton will be a full participant in the race at VIR, he is not eligible for the pilot points or prize money.

In the series Jetta TDI Cup cars are all identical Jetta TDI, powered by HYPERFUELS 'SynDiesel ® B5 bio-fuel. The environmental car uses just two tanks of fuel and clean diesel in races during the season. Like his father, founder of the Wildlife Ward Burton, Burton is an avid outdoorsman who cares deeply about conservation.
