How to clean and wash a baseball cap A baseball hat that is dirty, sweaty mess can easily be restored to its original condition with a good washing.
To begin, take a look at the tag inside of the hat. That should tell you what your baseball cap is standard and the manufacturer's instructions for washing. If the tag is still there, great. Follow these instructions. If your tag is missing or unreadable, you'll need to understand what your hat is done.
Baseball caps are generally made of following materials:
Cotton twill material is strong and durable with a cotton look and feel of.
Cotton Polyester is a tough, a mixture of light fabric that is often dyed.
Jersey knit is a durable material, dyed, knit and it is easy to wash.

When washing, make sure your hat is washed with similar colors, and use cold water or warm. Do not use hot water, and do not use bleach!
Do not put your baseball cap in a dryer, because it distorts its shape. There are cheap plastic molds that you can buy that will help keep your hat keep its shape as it dries. This part is optional, but it can help.
If your baseball cap is made of wool, it will tend to decrease in water or in warm conditions. wool hats must be hand washed in a sink of cool water and mild detergent. Then they should be air dried on an object, like a box of coffee to keep its shape.
Some resources suggest using a dishwasher to clean your hat. This is not recommended for any type of hat, for the high heat of the dishwasher can cause damage - even on the top rack. Dishwashers are for dishes, not clothes.
A good washing will keep your baseball cap as new!
