French Neckties

Is it acceptable to wear a regular tie with a tux shirt wrinkled? I can not make up my mind and I can not seem to find any hard and fast "rules" on the Internet. So would it be OK to wear a white shirt (no ruffles French) with a tux and a tie (what someone is doing a review) The wedding will be quiet and just my best man and I'm going to wear tuxedos and we have a chance if most guests wear jackets and ties. It is never acceptable for non-servers to wear a tie with a tux. Most people would not notice the lack of French cuffs, especially since rental jackets often have sleeves too long.
