Does anyone have experience with Gerbing heated clothing and Harley Davidson? Gerbing stuff is HD. I'm looking for personal experiences, not a magazine or online journals.
Gerbing heated train is very good. This is the highest power output of all brands that I know. Whether this translates into heat good for you, much of it depends on whether you fit well in their jackets. Their jackets are made in the relatively loose midsection. If you have a belly, it is probably good enough for you. In fact, they are usually so warm that you have to turn them off and during your trip or get the rheostat controller. If you build a more athletic, bigger chest than belly, I would also consider the Widder heated vest / options armchaps. The Widder are constructed with a building cleaner and better heat tranfer if you're body type is fine, although somewhat less power. I do not recommend Widder if you have a belly, bcs no doubt you're going to buy the jacket more depending on your belly, and there will be more space around your chest. The Widder insulating materials evenly distribute the heat too much. One thing about clothing Gerbing, is that they have no high-tech fabric or heating technology. Heating pads are placed in three separate areas. You will find that there are cold spots and stains very hot in your arms and sides of your body, and in general, but it will not be a big problem. The guy Widder arm are a kind of weird little concept of love and some hate. They distribute heat better. But people who ride Gerbing said there is no question that this is not even, or there is a cool spot ... it is still powerful enough to cook you inside! :)
Gerbing heated gloves are also hot and cold. Hot on the back of your hand on the cold palm. If you have heated grips, which has no real significance.
With respect to how you can get cold ... as long as you have really good protection against the wind, I'm comfortable to go below zero or in the Gerbing or Widder. It may be in the teens and I'm comfortable.
In general, however, I strongly recommend two controllers rheostat to respond heated. It is useful to be able to turn down the jacket a little while keeping your legs / arms pumped (depending on how you wired). I have known several people who say gloves are not nearly enough power while the vest is to cook. 2 controllers help that.
is this time, the heated thermastat on my pants hit the Fritz .. my pants and turned the heating on cold ... and lets just say it wasn't a lot happening downstairs.
I have been using Gerbing heated clothing for about 4 years ... I am very happen with them ... I have gloves, jacket, shirt and socks .... They work great as the temperature is 38-40 degrees or above. Today I rode .. He was 34 .. I do not think something is going to work when it is cold and .... they have a lifetime warranty
I have a Gerbing jacket liner. Heated neck makes a huge difference for me.
I had a single problem with it. Beat me for not having bought sooner. It was fun riding in cool weather, and riding in cold weather as possible. You'll need the optional remote control, otherwise it gets too hot.
I get into the high mountains. heated clothing is almost a necessity on cold mornings.
My wife and I purchased heated vests. We note that if you wear the jacket closer to the bare skin as possible, they keep you warm. The good thing is that if you get hot, you can disable it. After driving all these years without one I would not ride again without a mile it.Once you get cold on a bike you're done. This gel many times. He expressed all sorts of weather a pleasure. <.
