To begin to make hair ribbon bows you want to cut a length of ribbon. The amount of tape you need will be determined by what size bow you want to create. Clearly an arc of an infant would be a smaller variety, requiring less width and less length. For a baby, you infant bow, for example, you can use grosgrain ribbon with a width of less than 2 "and a length of about 15".
For an older child increase the length and size of your tape as needed.
A bow-tied hair is simply the same way you tie your shoes with a buckle and a pirouette. Create your ribbon bow, practice makes perfect.
