Rosh Hashanah I am on duty tonight di I make my prayer shawl tallit Jew? Do you wear on Rosh Hashanah?
It is too late for this year but for next year, the answer is -
You do not have to wear a shawl for evening services, except for Erev Yom Kippur. However, if the synagogue was conservative or Orthodox, you can bring your tallit before Erev Rosh Hashanah Ma'ariv on, and leave there the next morning, so you do not have to wear it on Yom Tov .
Change to Alonyoav: I defer to your knowledge, but I respectfully ask you if maybe minhag vary? At our synagogue as a kid, all men have brought their bag tallit to synagogue on Erev Rosh Hashana (and Kol Nidrei) and left overnight. Whenever I speak now, our rabbi does not carry anything on Shabbat or Yom Tov, even religious articles.
yes yes yes yes yes yes
The No. tallit is not worn at night, except ** ** on Erev Yom Kippur.
No night - the Day of Atonement (In most congregations, the singer will wear a prayer shawl in all evening prayers, but nobody else)
The Talit is worn only during the day on Rosh Hashanah. So, you do not need to wear tonight. In addition, you are allowed to carry a prayer shawl etc. Machzor, Rosh Hashanah unless it falls on Shabbat. Transportation for the necessities of Yom Tov is permitted, so this year you can carry your Tallis in the synagogue during the day without putting it there before Yom Tov begins.
