"Ch1, (place a marker in last worked)" - means that you must put some kind of marker points in the "Channel 1" that you just before the parenthesis, before going on to the next step.

For one marker, you can use a paper clip, a small earring, a piece of wire - just so you know it is the point to be marked. Chances are, you will be informed of significant work in this later.
