Posted on June 23, 2011.
Prescription Safety GlassesI wear glasses prescription. Do I need to wear safety glasses when firing a handgun?

I do not see how I can wear goggles on top of my glasses. Do I need safety glasses prescription to take then?

Yes, you can get safety glasses that are over your prescription glasses, sunglasses as fitover.
good and safe, then corrective lenses and protects your prescription glasses too expensive.

You should be fine.

Many lenses are made from polymers with high impact of those days that are stronger than safety glasses anyway. You just want to avoid direct exposure to flying debris.

Yes, I strongly recommend you wear safety glasses ... than in standard glass lenses can be made of stronger materials but executives are not.

I have but this is not the best solution. I strongly suggest you ask your eye doctor if they consider the materials and design / coverage to be good for security. The other factor is how they sit on your face a lot of shooting glasses are set to respond differently so that your eyes get the maximum protection when you have the weapon and head in a position shooting. Remember $ 200-300 for glasses is less expensive than even a visit to the emergency that check. Also, you do not end w / o your glasses a day if something happens. I saw with my own eyes if you have any type of catastrophic failure of glasses will probably be opposed so bad that they are almost useless.

I agree with * * 10 minutes late reply.
I've shot handguns for decades and found that if you hold the handgun far away from you eye to function properly. I was an idiot playing a trick on me uncomfortable, he maxed out over an old cap and ball revolver with a compression load double ffff g powder and handed it to me to shoot. It blew the top strap and I had completely made of brass and steel flying all cases. But my glasses prescription Order one piece went to the eye center of breaking glasses, but still intact.
Made me a believer in safety glasses.
I just wish I had worn hearing protection at the time, I was not wearing a hearing aid today if I had.

They are safety glass fit over prescription glasses, but I find them annoying.

some firing ranges and class instructors need safety glasses when shooting, but I have been shooting rifles, handguns, bows and arrows and guns to lead from the age of about 8 or 9 (26 today) and I've never had an eye injury and I do not wear safety glasses when I b someone! t (Hing me to put them.
I do however have a time I was using a slingshot rifle primers rebound on the wall of rubble in my fathers basement and when the brass of a sudden behind me turned right between two front teeth (God thank you I had braces at the time), he leaned over my shoulder straps U "between the parentheses and that the wire I would have lost two teeth that he would do.

It'sa matter of risk assessment and how you feel with the risks. If your glasses are real glass, it is possible to break glass and penetrate the eye. Many lenses today are made with polycarbonate lenses and are resistant to shock, even if they do scratch more easily.

Unless you are a designer eyeglasses glasses, I suggest you wear safety glasses. I saw an envelope ejected and obtain land within the glass. The girl left with a burn scar right under his right eye.

You can get more shields for glasses, but I would get glasses perscrip SAF-T-I use the san you get them in yellow too.
