I'm sorry to say, but yes, it is illegal to buy a wrong replica / whatsoever, simply because it is trademark infringement, and it hurts the owner of the original brand. It is smaller form of embezzlement or theft.

If you just want the issue because of its trade name, pop for the real thing. But even better, if you do not want to pay these outrageously enormous sums of money for high marks, finding items at a reasonable price you love that really show what you've got a lot of style. It is the fault of the seller, not the buyer, when purchasing fake goods. Even if there are actual laws that otherwise no one can ever judge a buyer to buy anything fake or knock-off.
