Sight StationVisit hill stations in India for a refreshing change

It is known that the mountain resorts are most popular in India. In fact, the word mountain resort "was invented in India, according to a popular website http://www.hillstations.com (which happens to be my favorite resources when I plan to visit one them). Thus, while most vendors offer travel packages such as "9 days trip to India," or a "Travel 30 days," do you think it is really possible to visit the throughout India, verify all sightseeing, shopping and collecting souvenirs, and promotes the delights that each offers, all in one month? Certainly not - not once long! Not Even if you have a private jet plane or helicopter (or two) at your disposal. Even if you took a vacation for an entire year, you could never cover it all. My advice is - take a few locations which are close to each other at a time and keep the rest for next time. This way, you will not have to rush in a hurry.

Ideally, I'd say cut your plan into four main sections - East, West, North and South India (assuming you're not from India). You can then plan your visits to each of them so that you can cover each part in one, two or three visits. Of course, this also depends on how long you have at your disposal. Let's see what the mountain resorts fall of these four parts:

In the northern part of India you can visit Shimla, Nainital, Kullu, Manali, Mussoorie, Chail, Badrinath, Gangotri, Mount Abu, Khajjiar and Sonamarg. Other hill stations in the northern Almora, Bhimtal, Chamba, Dalhousie, Dhanaulti, Dharamsala, Gulmarg, Kangra, Kufri, Kasauli, Khilanmarg, Kausani, Ladakh, Mukteshwar, Pachmarhi, Pahalgam, Patnitop, Ranikhet, Renuka, Srinagar, Zanskar and Pithoragarh.

The eastern part of India you can visit Darjeeling, Shillong, Tawang, Mirik and Kalimpong.

In the western part of India you can visit Lonavala, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, Saputara, Matheran and Panhala.

In South India, you can visit Anantagiri Hills, Coonoor, Devikulum, Horsley Hills, Idukki Kodaikanal, Ooty, Munnar, Nandi Hills and Peermade. Other mountain resorts in the South are Agumbe, Horanadu, Kemmannagundi, Ponmudi, Coorg, Aruku Valley, Wayanad, Kotagiri and Yercaud.

Side note: I may have missed a few mountain resorts, it would be best to consult the website link in this article if you want the full list and information about them.

Originally used by the British as the summer capital to escape the summer heat, mountain resorts are now tourist attractions, after India gained its independence. All mountain resorts are best known for its ambiance, beauty, holiness, peace and serenity. Thus, it would be impossible to do justice to them individually in a small article like this. It is to your advantage to read information, watch videos and pictures on them, work out your budget, by hotel and resort rates, check which one matches your choice nature, preference and budget , and then make an informed decision on where to go.

Let me give you some helpful tips before you leave by visiting them. Do lots of research before you go. Try to get good deals on hotels and resorts, especially if you are visiting out of season. Carry lots of money - you can not get ATMs in some locations, and in some places do not accept credit cards. Battery operated flashlights, clothes depending on weather and climate, and a pair of sneakers. Bring your camera, accessories and storage options for photos (film or memory chips). And, of course, spare batteries too - you can not have a chance to recharge as often as necessary.

Like most hotels and resorts charge a twin sharing basis at least, it makes sense to have a friend with you (better yet, a group of li.
