How wide a margin that is necessary to spiral? I put together a cookbook for myself using Microsoft Word and plan on having spiral Kinkos or Staples or somewhere like that. However, I am not sure how wide a margin to leave. Also, if I'm half-height (that is, two pages printed on one page, then cut out). How wide a space should I leave between columns so that the "pages" are in fact only the right half of each page until the end being connected properly?
Hopefully that was intelligible.
Thank you for the help!
Most comb binding machines cut 1 / 8 "in, and are 1 / 8" wide in the cutting area. I give them 1.25 inches, to give them room and still have a margin of 1 inch space between the text and link. You'll need plenty of space for the center "blanks" between columns, if you cut them apart, what you want PLUS left to right from left of most pages (right margin) since that will butt against the left edges of the other half of the pages, cut once.
If, for example, you want a one-inch margins all around, gives 1.25 inches of white space on the left side (where the connection is in progress), 2.25 inches of white space in the middle (between pages - 1.25 for their pairing, over 1 inch taller), and 1 inch at the extreme right.
